Originally built as a private house for a local business entrepreneur in the 1830’s the House itself has had a colourful past, as a private home, an aged persons dwelling and latterly for most of the 1900’s as a hotel under different private ownerships. In 2005 the original gardener’s cottage (now The Bothy), was converted to a holiday cottage, and 4 Mews style cottages built in the grounds. In 2006 the hotel closed and was converted into 6 luxury private apartments. These homes are now used by individuals as homes, holiday homes and holiday lets and for those wishing to sample living for a short while in these fantastic surroundings short breaks and longer stays can be arranged in a number of the properties - see below.

Local food and drink
The property is near a local pub, hotel with 3 restaurants availalbe in Beadnell. In nearby Seahouses a wealth of choice is to hand from staple fish and chips, to pub grub, and international cuisine.
